I think "visionary" is used the way "renaissance man" was used a decade or so ago. (Sorry, I never heard it used with "woman," so it sounds too weird for me to use "renaissance woman," even though there were plenty of them!) It's along the same lines as 50 is the new 40, gray is the new black, etc...
Who cares who calls who a visionary, or anything else for that matter?! If a person has the experience and skills you need, who cares if he or others call him a toe picker or a doodler or anything else?!
Nadine, sounds like you need a "Guitar Hero" or "RockBand" if you don't already have one! Gave 12 y/o son GH for Christmas and I'm enjoying it as much (more?) than he is!
