True, Vincent.
Trust is the foundation not just of business relationships, but...
of all healthy relationships.
Trust can be strengthened through sincere Communication.
So, Team...
if anyone of you receives e-mails or
any sort of Real communication... try to attend to it.
What is networking or connecting if you don't respond?
We just have to stop asking... "What's in it for me?"
...when if only we start extending our hand,
we would find that Inner Fulfillment.
And remember...
what you sow is what you reap.
Carpe diem!

Trust is the foundation of all authentic networking.
And it should be the foundation of all business relationships.
Indeed, trust should be the foundation of all healthy relationships.
Trust is something offered.
In healthy relationships you give this, first.
In the best relationships, you give this, most.
And along with the demand for mutual respect, it's the single most
important demand you have a right to place on any relationship you
elect to be a part of. If these things are not given to you in a
relationship, you *have* no relationship. You are free of the
relationship and have no obligation to further it.
But relationships shouldn't be thrown away carelessly or for "light
and transient reasons" .
So, let's say you've offered your trust, your respect. Then you
start to see intimations of distrust/disrespect coming in from one
side in your business relationship. How should we handle those
apparently inevitable transition periods where trust starts to get
shaky/decay?
When the hints of problems start to get louder and louder and louder,
clearer and more sustained - how would you broach the subject of
suspicions to the other side?
Is it advisable to recognize that you're riding a dead horse and make
a unilateral decision to rescind your trust based upon the hints of
distrust coming from the other side? (Valarie Washington has an
excellent article on the latter subject posted here on MLPF.)
We may not be expert at it but, we all know distrust when we see it.
It's OK to experience the ebb and flow between trust and distrust in a
business relationship. But what do you do when your senses start to
pick up a tsunami of distrust, a "void" where mutual respect should
be?
If we trust ourselves, if we respect ourselves shouldn't *we* demand
this in our relationships?
In the absence of mutual respect and trust, wouldn't your continued
offering of trust, support, and respect be sheer sycophancy?
This is a nebulous subject. But it's all the more reason I'm seeking
the wisdom of the group. I welcome your thoughtful feedback on this
vital subject.
