Well, I had a funny one ... number of connections: -1 (yes, negative one).
 
As I have stated before, LI is a house of cards and is likely to be toppled any moment. What you witnessed was another manifestation of the same.

10, Sure enough, when the backtracking to pre-acceptance, M's information is there.

11. So, this time, Mr. Persistent right clicks and opens M's profile and - voila! - the information IS THERE!

12. And yet again, Mr. Persistent goes back to the original invitation acceptance page only to find that after accepting the invitation, the information is NOT THERE...

Well, that's about as close as I can get to describing that odd little experience but, don't ask me to repeat it because even Mr. Persistent doesn't want to repeat the above... :-)
