It is an intersting forum. Thanks for your replies to my posting. I
learned about VOIP/Vonage stange situation. I hope someone in this
forum may have the experience with the situation or one who work for
vonage can give insight. If you feel this posting is not relavant to
this forum, let me know which forum could .
They were one the first to come up with VOIP to consumers. I am
impressed by their presence in telecom. The number of people in my
network talked highly about their company/service.
I received their promotional letter, where they mentioned that "Say
no to higher phone bills!, Easy to switch, easy to save".
I approached their customer service, but conneted to someone in
other part of world (globalization). They were keen to close the
order to get new customers. I am surprised to learn that there was
cancellation fee and two year contract for their service. I am
disappointed, because there were no such indication in their
promotion mailer.

How will they survive, if they are not sensitive to their customers?
I am in Maryland/DC. Are there any alternate VOIP providers in this
region?
